An application programming interface (API) is a set of routines, protocols, and tools for building software applications.



APIs enable data sharing and interaction between two or more systems. Users can utilize APIs to look for specific data, take action, or be alerted of status changes. APIs connect systems and exchange information in real-time to increase responsiveness.



API integrations make accessing your information more accessible and taking the actions you need to do business. Integrating with Rippey AI API services allows you to:

  • Get up to date with your shipping processes
  • Optimize your container tracking
  • Expand the reach of your data
  • Streamline logistics workflows

APIs are most commonly used to connect two different systems for transactional purposes. Integrating our APIs with your TMS (Transportation Management System), WMS (Warehouse Management System), or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system is a common implementation. Integrating historical data APIs into your analytics tool may also help evaluate and analyze previous performance.

Customers that want to integrate must first acquire an API key and secret as an authentication before using the API. Please refer to this page for further explanation.



Whenever we make an API change, we attempt to do it in a beneficial way that does not damage current integrations. However, things can occasionally change in ways that aren't backward compatible. Communication will be made in this scenario in accordance with the Rippey AI platform service level agreement.



We are continuously working to improve the API and its features. Our roadmap includes several significant enhancements coming in the future, including the ability to:

  • Endpoints for modifying or deleting data.
  • Develop a new API where users can fill in the info and get the access token

Yes. Unless you have subscribed for full access, you can only subscribe to 50 containers and/or 50 AWB numbers. Once you gain full access, you will get an unlimited subscription to the particular product you subscribed for.
